King Charles has arrived in Canada on a “short” but “intense” trip with Queen Camilla in the middle of his cancer matches.
The king and the queen have touched Ottawa today for a short visit that lasts less than 36 hours.
Talking with Daily Mail, An insider revealed that the trip is “short and intense” and says that it is actually the best way to handle things given Charles’ continuous cancer treatment.
Despite the tight schedule, Charles and Camilla will attend several ceremonial and cultural events that highlight Canada’s connection to the monarchy.
“It’s challenging, less than 36 hours door to door, but even though it feels very short and intense, it’s actually the best way to handle it,” Royal Insider said.
They added, “the king and the queen will hit the earth running, hugging as much as they might be, all without even noticing the time difference.
“And the team wants him back in Britain for his regularly planned [cancer] Treatment as usual. “
They shared that the visit is planned carefully to make the most of the time without affecting Charles’ regular treatment back in the UK.
“This [short visit] does not exclude the possibility of a longer royal tour in Canada over time, ”the source said.
Charles and Camilla’s first day in the country would be very busy with participation in a societal event celebrating Canada’s different culture.
The couple also meets people from different organizations across the country according to the publication.
After this, the king and the queen also meet with governor General and Prime Minister Carney.
In addition, Queen Camilla is officially made a member of the Canadian Privy Council. They will then plant a tree in Rideau Hall.
Their day ends with a reception for Lieutenant Guests and Territorial Commissioners from all over Canada.
