Muzaffarabad:
In a tough pistol fight between law enforcement authorities and terrorists in the Hussain KOT area of the Rawalakot district, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), four terrorists were killed while two policemen embraced martyrdom.
According to police, when security forces attacked the terrorist’s hiding place, the suspected fire opened and threw hand grenades at the attacking party, resulting in the immediate martyrdom of two policemen. In an attempt to avoid catching, the terrorists detonated explosive units and killed themselves on the spot.
Police confirmed that the ring leader and the most sought -after terrorist, Zarnosh Naseem, also blasted himself while trying to escape. He was in demand in several high-profile cases, including the murder of Constable Sajjad Resham, and had been hidden in the Rawalakot area for a long time. Authorities said he was an active member of a prohibited militant organization operating in AJK.
You Poonch Sardar Zaheer confirmed the death of four terrorists and the martyrdom of two policemen during surgery.
Meanwhile, federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to the successful terrorist visit to Rawalakot. He paid tribute to the martyred police, praised their courage, and noted that their victim prevented a major disaster in AJK.
“The martyred officers have set an example by sacrificing their lives in the duty of duty,” Naqvi said. “The whole nation greets their courage and is in solidarity with the deprived families.”
