Ohio State reportedly built one of the country’s most expensive guards on the way to January’s national championship.

Some have claimed that Texas’ consumption on the way into the 2025 campaign was on par with or even surpassed the $ 20 million used by Buckeyes.

Sarkisian referred to a recent Column to Houston Chronicle, which highlighted Texas’ program list. The column accounted for revenue sharing and Texas Nil Collective payouts. Sarkisian suggested that $ 25 million be a more accurate figure for Texas’ investment. He also suggested that the number of $ 40 million was a result of “irresponsible reporting.”

“There was an anonymous source that said that was what our list was. I wish I had $ 40 million on our list. We would probably be a slightly better team than we are,” the coach said during a recent performance at Siriusxm’s College Sports Radio.

Sarkisian then approached the current landscape of college football.

“The idea of believing that many other schools are not spending money to get players? It’s the state college -football right now. That’s what it is,” he said.

After defeating Clemson in the first round last season, Texas survived a double-over-over thriller against Arizona State in the quarterfinals. But Longhorns couldn’t get past Ohio State in the semi -finals.

“It’s been a good race. I wish I had about another $ 15 million or so. We might have a better list,” Sarkisian said.
