- Fujifilm X-E5 could be the first new XE model since the 2021s X-E4
- It is now jerked to come with a 40MP sensor and stabilization in the body
- Could launch on June 12 with new 23 mm Pancake Prime Lens
It’s High-Time Fujifilm announced a new XE Mirrorless camera and we may now have a date for circle in the diary. Fujifilm has revealed the time and place for its summit event in 2025 X-12. June in Shanghai and there is speculation that the long rumored Fujifilm X-E5 will officially be revealed.
Just last week we reported rumors who claimed that Fujifilm X-E5 would be announced in June, so this event message simply adds additional fuel to this brand. It comes to us with the permission of reliable site Fuji rumors, which also reports that Fujifilm will advertise a new X-Mount Pancake lens at the event: XF23mm. This stubby wide-angle primer should be a perfect partner for the compact X-E5 body, and we would not be surprised if the mating eventually sold as a bundle.
Rumors who wonder how the X-E5 could be in terms of specifications, features and price have been thin on the ground-til now. Again, it is Fuji rumors with the story that claims that the X-E5 comes with a 40MP X-Trans V APS-C sensor and image stabilization in the body (IBIS). It would take it closer to the popular, fixed lens Fujifilm X100VI, which also has both functions but lacks the possibility of interchangeable lenses.
This would represent a solid upgrade during the 2021-free Fujifilm X-E4, which has a 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4-sensor and no IBIS. It also lacks weather sealing, double card slots and holds physical controls to a minimum, all of which have led to the fact that it is generally considered by Fujifilm enthusiasts as something of a disappointment.
But with the rumor mill, which predicts that we will unlikely to see a sequel of Fujifilm X-Pro 3 (or X100VI) in 2025, the rumor X-E5 could be this year’s most expected FUJI camera for anyone looking for a compact, retro page kick with a Rangefinder design.
How much can a Fujifilm X-E5 cost?
The potential price of Fujifilm X-E5, meanwhile, stays up in the air. The X-E4 landed in February 2021 for $ 850 / £ 799 / AU $ 1,399, but rumors suggest its successor could cost a little more than that.
We do not want to speculate, especially given the current levels of uncertainty due to US tariffs on foreign built goods. But Fuji rumors point out that although every previous XE camera has had a launch RRP of less than $ 1000, the included the higher resolution sensor and IBIS on an X-E5 could well push up its price well above this line.
The X-E5, if real, represents an option for Fujifilm to deliver a better equipped compact mirror-free camera type of very portable, discreet allrounds that are ideal for travel and street photography. The larger sensor and IBIS would be a good start, but we would also like to see weather sealing and a more comprehensive control setup.
Will our prayers be answered? It looks like we might find out as soon as June 12. In the meantime, comment on what you would love to see in the rumored Fujifilm X-E5 in the comments section below.
