Supergirl: Tomorrow WomanDue to fly into theaters in June 2026, the titular entirely introduces a whole new audience.
Over 40 years have passed since Kara Zor-Eel’s only big screen adventure. And while she has appeared in several TV shows, it is high time that Kal-Eel’s weary but similar powerful cousins returned to the Silver Screen ramp light.
With Supergirl‘s too long daring Sophomore film excursion, which will be DC Universe’s (DCU) other film release, you want to learn more about it. Below I have rounded off the latest information about the superhero’s flick, including its confirmed release date and role crew, history information and more. Potential spoilers follow before Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman And the graphic novel it is based on.
Supergirl: Tomorrow -Release Date
Today we celebrate #Supergirl and all her different incarnations. Can’t wait for you to see the latest version, portrayed by the indomitable @milyalcock, in June 2026.Photo by Parisa Taghizadeh. pic.twitter.com/3sxwaffxjb31 March 2025
Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman will land in theaters all over the world June 26, 2026. That means Supergirl will make her dcu -debut almost a year after James Gunn’s Superman Movies officially starts DCU. Well if you discount Creature Commandos‘First season.
But I’ll take off. Although he does not instruct it, Gunn, one of DC Studios’ co-leader (via threads), confirmed that head photography wrapped in early May. With over 12 months to finish its post-production phase, there is no reason why DCU Chapter One movie will not make its current release date.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Trailer: Is there one?
No. A teaser could be displayed on the San Diego Comic-Con 2025 at the end of July if DC Studios is present and one is edited in time. Right now, however, there are no recordings in public.
Once a trailer is released, I update this section.
Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman Cast: Confirmed and Rumor

Potential spoilers follow for Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman.
Here is who I expect to see in Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman:
- Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
- Jason Momoa as Lobo
- Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem
- Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll
- David Krumholtz as Zor-El
- Emily Beecham as Alura In-ze
So far, Alcock and Momoa are the only actors officially confirmed to appear.
Alcock that you might recognize from Dragon House and Sirenswas chosen to play Supergirl in January 2024. Alcock joined the last two with Meg Donnelly last January, and was then chosen by Gunn and his studio chef Peter Safran to play a character previously portrayed by them like Helen Slater, Melissa Benoist and Summer Glau in a live action capacity.
Real name Kara Zor-El, she comes from Krypton, alias the broken planet, also home to Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman. In fact, she is Superman’s cousin, so you won’t be surprised to hear that she has identical powers to the only other surviving cryptonian. Expect to see her use her superhuman physical abilities, heat vision, X -ray vision, inevitability and air -based skills in Woman tomorrow.

As for Momoa, who played Aquaman in the now abandoned DC Extended Universe (DCEU), he comes as a lobo.
The only survivor of another foreign race who lived in the utopian world known as Czarnia, raises Lobo Kosmos as a Bounty Hunter/Mercenary. He has also gained the skills for the job with super strength, speed and agility plus immortality, self-healing powers and expert fields of expertise, ensuring that few enemies can best be in short and long-range battle.
Interestingly enough Lobo will not appear in Woman tomorrow‘s cartoon -names brother (more about the story later), so I’m eager to learn why author Ana Nogueira and director Craig Gillespie included him in the film customization.
Where the rest of the role crew is concerned, ridley who appeared in 3 body problem On Netflix, Ruthye (per deadline) plays. A young and noble warrior who admits the named hero’s help to trace the person who murdered his father will Ruthye play an integrated role in history.
Meanwhile, Krumholtz and Beechnam are on board (per Hollywood reporter) as Kara’s parents, Zor-El and Alura, so expect to see some flashbacks to Kara’s childhood and potentially crypton’s death. According to the aforementioned free article, Schoenaert’s role of Krem, also known as the primary villain in the play, tackles to kill Ruthye’s father.
Eventually, Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman will contain everyone’s favorite violent pooch, crypto. Inspired by Gunn’s own rescue dog ouzo, Krypto will make his DCU debut in Gunn’s Superman Film before crossing the galaxy with Kara and Ruthye.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Story -speculation

Possible spoilers follow for Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman.
Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman Don’t have a story synopsis yet. However, it is already possible to draw some conclusions about its plot because it draws strongly from its graphic novel series -Name brother.
Really, Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman The same title is awarded an eight-edition series written by Tom King and drawn by Bilquis Evey, who ran from June 2021 to February 2022.
In it, Kara Zor-El trails cross with Ruthye and are asked to help the latter find the man (ie Krem) who is responsible for killing his father. A reluctant Supergirl agrees to help and thus kick the events of the literary work.
I don’t want to spoil much else, for good, spoilers. However, Woman tomorrow is a unique cartoon series as it does not tell the story from the perspective of the titular hero. In fact, we are witnessing events playing out through Ruthye’s eyes, so I’m curious to see if this will be the case in his film adaptation, or if Kara will be our eyes and ears instead.
Look at
Whatever it seems that Supergirl’s first Solo DCU excursion will be incredibly true to its graphic novel. In January, Gunn revealed Woman tomorrow‘s first behind the scenes, and it showed Alcock’s Kara in a place that will be very well known for DC fans. Of course, this is just a single picture, but I would be amazed if the upcoming flick is not an almost identical retelling of the plot that plays out in DC Comics Literature.
Of equal intrigues will be the film’s age assessment.
In any case, Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman is a rather dark story from a thematic point of view so its live-action interpretation could push the boundaries of what is considered a PG-13 movie in the United States and a 12-Plus movie in England. I suppose this is age assessments that it will eventually serve, as Gunn, Safran and Company do not want to make a 16-plus or even R-classified film that fewer people will be able to watch.
How will Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman of Tomorrow influence DCU?

The short answer is: I don’t know. Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman will be the fourth DCU project that has been released after Creature Commandos Season 1, Supermanand Lanterns. The last of this trio is the next HBO TV original, which is also broadcast on Max (USA and Australia) and Sky/Now TV (UK). It is expected to be launched in early 2026.
Post-Woman tomorrowThe only other DCU production that is confirmed to be in active development is Clayface. A small budget horror flick from Mike Flanagan, it is currently pencil in to arrive in September 2026, and based on what has been published, it is very unlikely to have ties to Woman tomorrow.
Until the daughter of Krypton’s next deadly adventure is out, no one can say what the future has for Kara Zor-El, or how her first DCU-Solo movie will affect Gunn and Safran’s Cinematic Universe.
What we know is Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), places Supergirl as the fourth superhero that DCU will be built around. In May, WBD CEO David Zaslav investors told Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman and Batman are DCU’s “Big Asset Builders” (per Yahoo). So this is not the last we see of Kara in DCU.
