“I’m sorry to inform you all. I was just released from WWE,” he wrote on X. “I would like to thank WWE for the trip, but for the most part I want to thank each of you who was on the tour, thank you for all the love, support and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you.”
R-Truth had recently come out of a short rivalry with John Cena in the middle of the legendary WWE star’s goodbye tour. He congratulated Cena with his title defense against Randy Orton at the press conference after Backlash. But he annoyed Cena enough for Cena to put R-truth through the table separating the wrestler from the media.
It started a week’s long rivalry that eventually saw Cena put an end to R-Truth, which had been billed as one of Cena’s “childhood heroes.”
