Global Water Organization launched to tackle crisis

The newly created Global Water Organization (GWO) has officially begun operations from its headquarters in Riyadh after the signing of its founding of eight nations, including Pakistan during an opening meeting in the Saudi capital.

According to a statement from Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) on Sunday, the launch event “marked” an important milestone in promoting international cooperation to tackle global water challenges. “

Federal Minister of Water Resources Mueen Wattoo represented Pakistan on invitation from Saudi Arabia’s Environment Minister Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Mohsen al-Fadley to share the country’s perspective.

“Pakistan, along with other basic members, signed the GWO-Charter, which formally commits to the organization’s common vision of strengthening international cooperation on water buttonness, sustainable resource management and climate insurance, especially in dry and water stressed regions,” it said. According to Saudi Press Agency, the organization is gathering basic members of Saudi -Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Spain, Greece, Senegal, Pakistan and Mauritania, United of a common obligation to sustainable water resource management.
