A local court has given bail to Kamran Asghar Qureshi, father of Armughan, the biggest suspect in Mustafa Aamir killing case, in an illegal arms box.
The bail application was heard by the extra district and sessions judge (South) who approved bail against a bail bond of RS100,000.
During the hearing, the defense lawyer Khurram Awan claimed that the case was groundless and registered solely because the defendant is Armughan’s father. He claimed that Kamran was unlawfully implicated in several cases.
The judge noted that the defendants should be released if they were not wanted in any other case.
According to the prosecution, the anti-violent crime cell had booked Kamran Asghar Qureshi after asking illegal weapons from his possession. In total, four FIR’s have been filed against him.
Previously, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi had expanded the physical custody of Armughan, the greatest suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, for another seven days.
The court ordered the investigative officer to submit a status report during the next consultation. Prosecutors claimed that more time was required to restore a laptop and mobile phone that they believe contains decisive proof.
Armughan’s defense lawyer was against the request and claimed that the police had completed their investigation and further custody was unnecessary.
However, the Court sought the prosecution and approved the extension.
During the consultation, the judge asked if the seized evidence had been properly sealed, as the investigator confirmed compliance. The court also allowed Armughan’s parents to meet him briefly.
According to a report, Armughan had also allegedly confessed to the crime and explained the causes of Mustafa’s killing.
The report revealed that Armughan was running a call center in a bungalow in Defense Housing Authority’s Khayaban-e-Momin area, where 30 to 40 boys and girls worked with 30 to 35 security guards stationed in the premises. The bungalow allegedly had the house three lion cubs illegally.
An interrogation report also sheds light on Armugehan’s commitment to business and drug use. Before Mustafa’s murder, Armughan, along with his friend Shiraz, planned to burn Mustafa’s car and previously intended to hurt him.
The report revealed that in 2019 Armughan was involved in a case relating to drug imports, but he secured bail in that case.
According to the investigation, Armughan himself was a drug abuse. On New Year’s Eve, Armughan hosted a party in Bungalow, where Shiraz was also present until 1 p.m. However, Mustafa did not attend the party.
The next day, Armughan and Mustafa had a personal dispute that escalated into a violent confrontation.
On January 6, Armughan Shiraz invited to the bungalow to take drugs together, and Mustafa arrived at about 1 p.m. 21. During this meeting, Armughan Mustafa attacked with an iron bar.
Armughan and Shiraz stripped Mustafa of his clothes, bundled hands and feet with a white sheet and pulled him down the stairs.
Mustafa’s car was parked in the bungalow’s parking lot and they placed his body in the trunk of the car and then they took him to the hub.
The report further detailed that Armughan instructed two employees to cleanse blood stains from the room. Armughan also took Mustafa’s clothing, mobile phone and internet device.
When they couldn’t find fuel in the car, Armughan took a fuel box from the bungalow.
The report explains that Armughan discarded Mustafa’s mobile phone and other belongings along the way.
They arrived at HUB at about 1 p.m. 04:30, poured gasoline on the car and set it on fire.
Armughan and Shiraz then went to a hotel for breakfast. A hotel employee noticed a weapon and the two men fled the stage.
After walking for several hours and Clearing drove, they went back to Karachi.
