Style icon princess Diana’s many personal belongings, including designer dresses and more, are set to be auctioned soon. But the collection does not include any of her coveted coats.
The auction, held on June 26, contains over 300 of Diana’s personal belongings except her coats.
Martin Nolan, co -founder and CEO of Julien’s auction, which holds Princess Diana’s style & a royal collection, has revealed why it is.
“We learned through this how generous Diana was, always giving objects. And you never see a coat from Diana coming to auction because she used to get her butler or her staff or friends driving around London [in] January, February, [in the] Fryzing cold, ”he shared per. Daily Express.
He shared that the former princess of Wales was generous and handed out her coats to needy people in the winter.
He added, “she would find homeless people and give them her coats. That’s how she was – without a sight or whatever.”
Elsewhere, Nolan sheds light over Diana’s self -expression through her dresses.
Sharing insight into an evening dress from 1986, “This beautiful dress was designed by Catherine Walker, with Falcons in migration mode all the way down her back. She wore this to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia on a royal visit back in the late 1980s.”
“When Diana did her own auction in 1997, only two months before she suddenly died, this was one of the dresses she sold to charity,” he continued.
“She sold over 70 dresses upon request for her son, Prince William, and to raise money for her charities. She traveled over $ 3 million, which was huge at the time,” he shared.
Princess Diana died in 1997 after a terrible car accident.
