Brad Pitt says F1 drivers face more criticism than Hollywood stars

Brad Pitt is talking about ‘insulation’ and ‘pressure’ that F1 racers face

Brad Pitt talked about his upcoming sports drama movie, F1As he said he thinks Formula One drivers face more intense pressure and public criticism than actors.

In a recent conversation with Gq, The Hollywood star compared the two professions and said that although both can feel isolating, the level of control in racing is at another level.

Pitt pointed out that many people underestimate the skill it takes to compete in F1 because they drive cars themselves.

“There is an insulation,” he said. “Even a loneliness when you don’t want things to click. They usually lead to something bigger and you can find a purpose in it.”

The star continued, “but there is a particular insulation, and it is not necessarily a negative, it is an endeavor and a constant discussion with you and yourself about preserving this thing.”

Pitt said he feels that despite the challenges facing the actors, racing car drivers are dealing with harsher judgment.

“And yes, I think we are feeling bad,” he added. “But these guys are so investigated and that the sport is so reverent and there are so many of us who think we could do it too, just because we drive a car quickly down the highway or something.

“They get so much S ** t. It’s shocking to me. They have to have thicker skin than even us.”

The film, which also plays Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies and Javier Bardem, is scheduled to be released theatrical on June 25, 2025.
