Zardari turns on PPP over sialkot -tab

President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed strong dissatisfaction with Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) defeat in the PP-52 Sialkot (Sambrial) in elections that draws up the senior party officials for over-achieving performance.

Zardari sent his concerns during his recent political commitments in the Governor House in Lahore, where he also held meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other important political figures.

During his interaction with PPP Punjab’s leadership, President Zardari openly rapped party servants for their handling of the election campaign in PP-52 and expressed concern about the party’s continued weak foot in the province.

He issued fresh instructions to both central and provincial leadership aimed at rebuilding the party’s strength across Punjab.

Meanwhile, PPP’s central Punjab Information Secretary Shahzad Saeed Cheer has stated that there was no discussion about the PP-52 Sambrial elections under President Asif Ali Zardari’s recent meeting with party officers in Lahore.

He also dismissed reports of Zardari Chastising Party officials over the defeat of the election and claimed that the party secured more votes than in the previous voting.

During a meeting with the family of the late PPP Punjab -President Sheikh Rafiq Ahmad, Zardari expressed regret not to appoint the deceased Sheikh Rafiq as president of Pakistan, saying that what the party had done, instead of Farooq Leghari, could have been cut by the party, that from inside.

In a separate meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the two leaders discussed the growing Pakistani content tensions and the country’s broader political landscape.

According to Insiders, they reached an understanding of tackling the concerns of provinces and coalition partners in the upcoming federal budget 2025-26.

Sources also revealed that Prime Minister Shehbaz praised Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to effectively formulate Pakistan’s attitude towards India on international forums, especially in the light of the ongoing regional tribe.
