Pakistan Express

A preliminary investigative report on the derailment of Pakistan Express, which was on its way from Karachi to Rawalpindi, has revealed that poor maintenance of a bogie led to the almost subsequent accident.

According to rail sources, Bogie suffered a “hot shaft” error, an overheating problem that caused a critical pin to flip. As a result, the whole carriage under the bogie broke free and writhed from the track.

The incident took place on Sunday morning near Mubarakpur, in the Multan Railway Division. While the train avoided a major disaster of pure luck, damage was caused by at least two bogies and the track infrastructure.

According to railroad men, a dining car and a standard air-conditioned trainer for 45-up Pakistan Express derailed. However, no passengers were injured in the incident.

As a result, several up and down Trainwers delayed for hours at various stations within the Bahawalpur district.
