Ceddanne Rafaela may just thank his lucky stars, he plays his home matches at Fenway Park.
Rafaela used Peky’s pole to his advantage on Wednesday afternoon to lift his Boston Red Sox to an 11-9 win over Los Angeles Angels.
At the first pitch he saw at the bottom of the ninth, a 97 mph Fastball, Rafaela swung and flew one down the right field line.

But with the bad pole only 302 meters from the home plate, it was enough to be a walk-off to-run Homer.
The ball traveled only 308 meters, the shortest walk-off shot in the Statcast era (since 2015). Of course, it would have only been a home drive on Fenway.
The three shortest home runs ever traced by Statcast have all been at Fenway Park, and Rafaela’s shot is the third shortest on the record.

The angels blew 4-0, 7-5, 8-7 and 9-8 wires, with Rafael Dervers jumping a chopper between the gloves of the other Baseman Chris Taylor and Shortstop Zach Neto behind the second base to tie it 9-9 in the eighth.
The angels moved to 28-33, while Sox is now 30-34.
Each of the first three times Red Sox scored, Los Angeles replied with his own races. But after walking Mike Trout to lead the ninth, Cooper Criswell (1-0) got the next three fighters out to give Boston a chance to get off.
