- Sigma’s 12-Lens Aizu Prime Line range contains T1.3 aperture across the whole line-up
- Large format aizu prime promises Superb bokeh and natural image quality everywhere
- Upcoming by Cine Line Zooms will be Sigma’s first of-compatible cine lenses
Sigma has introduced two new series of cinema lenses, one of which – Aizu Prime Line – has the world’s fastest aperture on T1.3 across all its focal length.
The full Aizu Prime Line will eventually include 12 lenses with large format covering 18 mm to 125 mm focal range, all of which will be available in both PL mounting and Sony E-Mount. However, the initial launch, in August 2025, will only see eight of these (covering the core 25 mm to 75 mm range) released. Prices are still TBC.
Sigma promises unique image quality across the area, with the optics designed specifically for the delivery of a natural look with minimal distortion and focus breathing. They will also demonstrate consistent color balance, contrast and flare characteristics across the entire series to help filmmakers easily achieve a more overall look.
That T1.3 Maximum aperture in the meantime should allow users to achieve very low depth of field and attractive, soft bokeh. Sigma has recorded a short film with the range to demonstrate what they can do (see below).

Despite being relatively compact and lightweight (all the first eight weights either about 3.6 lb / 1.7 kg), Aizu Prime Line lenses have a 46.3 mm image circle, allowing them to be used not only with super 35 and full-frame but also large format cameras such as Vistavision and Arri Alexa LF Open Gate.
Of and FF arrive later in the year
Alongside the Aizu Prime message, Sigma also revealed that it is currently developing two new zoom lenses with full frame for its of the Cine line. These will be the first Sigma Cine lenses to support autofocus and will be available in L-Mount and Sony E-Mount. Sigma says they will offer excellent optical performance (derived from the design of two existing Sigma art lenses, designed for photography) and almost-tuned AF-operation.
First to arrive, Sigma will 28-45mm T2 FF due to the launch in November 2025. It will be followed by Sigma 28-105mm T3 FF in the spring of 2026. Pricing is still TBC.
