Netflix’s limited series Youth has become the second largest English-language TV series in the history of the streaming giant.
It’s worked so well that it’s beaten Stranger Things Season 4, one of our best Netflix shows. It will be interesting to see if these locations change after the release of the highly expected Stranger Things Season 5, which is the last rate and must be released in three parts.
Despite Youth Success, the first slot is still held by Wednesdaywhich returns to Season 2 in August. Meanwhile the highest ranked non-English-language show the first season of Octopus gamesthat returns to Season 3 in June.
What have the audience and critics said about youth?
Youth Was developed by Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham and tells the story of a teenage school boy who is accused of murdering a colleague reel, and the devastating toll taking the case on his family. The series has become a sensation that receives a 99% rat tomatoes critics.
Recently, the limited series enjoyed success at the Gotham TV Awards, where it won pierced Limited Series and two acting awards for leading stars Stephen Graham and 15-year-old Owen Cooper.
Another season has been discussed but nothing has been confirmed yet. When we were asked about the opportunity, Graham told Variety: “Possibly, let’s see what the characters are. But yes, there is the opportunity to develop another story.”
The series received widespread recognition, with Techradar’s John-Anthony Disotto, who paid tribute to it as “TV Show of the Year”. He especially praised the play and the camera’s work and said, “It is an incredibly impressive film technique that highlights the excellent acting of the ensemble’s role crew as well as induces anxiety because of the show’s pace pace.”
