Zardari Roots for Broad National Consensus

President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the country urgently needs political stability and broad national consensus and emphasizes that all democratic forces must work together to ensure progress and prosperity.

During a meeting with a lawyer for senior party leader Aamir Hasan in Lahore, President Zardari said public service should be last and adding any person and group will have to play their role to solve public problems.

The president urged youth to advance to the country’s progress. He called for a uniform strategy to make Pakistan financially alive.

Zardari instructed the PPP leaders to work hard for the party’s reorganization.

Barrister Aamir Hasan suggested that competent and ideological workers be appointed at PPP’s most important organizational positions.

Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari also held a meeting with PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) member Chaudhry Manzoor Ahmed.

They discussed the problems of workers and government employees and exchanged views on increasing minimum wages by 50 percent in the upcoming budget.

Chaudhry Manzoor suggested that minimum wage be increased to RS50,000 and Eobi pensions by 100 percent.

Zardari expressed hope that the government will consider workers and workers welfare as a highest priority in the budget.

He said society cannot move on without giving relief to workers.
