Today’s search was a celebration of the ego and what makes us singular. It is appropriate because the beach’s is largely an individual persecution, and like most solo efforts we are in competition with only another person – ourselves.
Trying to live like others to fit in or be someone you are not is a thank -you and exhausting task that usually leads to frustration or humiliation.
Frank Ocean’s Wonderful Album Blonde have a good track called Be yourself It largely consists of a response machine message that Frank’s Aunt Rosie has left behind, and advised her son to avoid alcohol and drugs on his university campus and “stop trying to be another”. “Be yourself and know it’s good enough,” she says. “Don’t try to act like someone else, be yourself. Be sure with yourself. Trust and trust your own decisions.” Wise words.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
