Islamabad: The Nation is celebrating Eid Ul Adha today with traditional religious innerness, solemn devotion and a renewed spirit of unity – this time, in the shadow of the recent tensions in the region.
As the first eid since the recent standoff between nuclear armed neighbors Pakistan and India resonates the apartment with a stronger than ever message of solidarity, peace and compassion.
The day began with special Eid beans at mosques, Eidgahsand open spaces across the country. Workers offered collective prayers to the well -being of Muslim Ummah and for peace, progress and prosperity in Pakistan and the wider region.
In their sermons, religious scholars reflected on the sustained legacy of the Prophet Ibrahim (as) and the Prophet Ismail (AS), emphasizing the need for patience, unity and spiritual resilience in light of adversity.
The ritual of QURBANI is also observed nationwide, with families and communities sacrificing animals to memory of the unwavering obedience shown by the Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
Those who sacrifice victims are advised to distribute the flesh generously among the poor and strengthen the message that Eid is a time for inclusion, charity and shared blessings.
In this regard, strict safety schemes have been enforced by federal and provincial authorities, especially in larger urban centers and locations that host large congregations. Local administrations have also ensured smooth waste management of the three days of EID, which strengthens both citizen responsibility and the spirit of society.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif congratulated in a comprehensive Eid message the nation and the Islamic world on the holy apartment and said, “The message from Eid Ul Adha goes beyond animal sacrifice. It teaches us to give up personal interests to higher national goals.”
He emphasized that the story of the Prophet Ibrahim (As) and the Prophet Ismail (AS) teaches victim, obedience and devotion as the cornerstone of a strong and united society.
He noticed, “The Spirit of Eid Ul Adha gives values of patience, courage and altruism that can serve as a foundation for national development.” When he reflected on the recent tensions with India, he said, “Like the nation united against aggression, we must now remain decisive in overcoming our internal challenges.”
The prime minister also drawn attention to the oppressed people in Palestine and Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. “We must remember our Palestinian and Kashmiri brothers and sisters who continue to face enormous difficulties. Pakistan stands firm with them in their bare fight,” he said. He called for national unity, civil responsibility and prioritization of collective interest in relation to personal gains to realize the dream of a strong, self -sufficient Pakistan.
President Asif Ali Zardari also expanded warm greetings to the nation and the Muslim Ummah. In his message, he emphasized that Eid Ul Adha is reviving the timeless values of faith, victims and fraternity exemplified by the prophet Ibrahim (as) and the Prophet Ismail (AS).
“This day reminds us that no victim is too big in the path of Allah,” he said.
He emphasized that Eid’s teachings must be integrated into daily life – not only through ritual but through action. “It is imperative that we support the underprivileged, nurture the sick and build a society based on compassion,” he said. He also urged citizens to “free hearts of hatred and prejudice and work sincerely for Pakistan’s prosperity.”
President Zardari emphasized the need for collective efforts to tackle financial challenges and confirm the country’s obligation to Muslim Ummah’s welfare. “Together we can shape a Pakistan defined by unity, mutual respect and shared progress,” he added.
Separate, Field Marshal and Chief of Staff Syed Asim Munir, President Joint Chiefs for Staff Committee, Head of Naval Staff and Head of Air Staff, also expanded Warm Eid Ul Adha greetings to the Pakistan population in a joint announcement.
The supreme military leaders offered their heartfelt prayers for lasting peace, national unity and the nation’s prosperity, the inter-services PR-Public Relations (ISPR) said.
They paid tribute to the resilience of the Pakistani people and recognized the courage and victims of the armed forces, law enforcement and citizens who continue to protect the country.
“Eid Ul Adha is a holy time for reflection, victims and unity,” the ISPR statement read.
“May this blessed apartment promote harmony in our society and reinforce the spirit of solidarity that binds us as an indomitable nation.”
The armed forces confirmed their commitment to stand by the people and defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity with determination.
The message said, “Pakistan -armed forces are resolutely with the people, united with the purpose and steadfast in their sacred duty to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.”
“On this day of reverence, we also honor the noble families of Shuhada-e-Pakistan-if Dear Dear Safe the ultimate victim in the service of peace and the nation,” it added.
The message ended with a patriotic statement: “Pakistan Hameesha Zindabad” – Long Live Pakistan.
Special EID programs will be broadcast on state and private media, while newspapers will publish dedicated EID costs that reflect on the spiritual and social significance of the apartment of the current geopolitical climate.
