For New York Yankees, it’s always World Series or Bust.
Of course, the Bronx bombers have 27 titles for their name, and that includes a record 18-year-old drought from 1978 to 1996. But after a new dynasty won four titles in five years, expectations changed again.
Yankees is still a multi -year team after the season that has not been completed under .500 since 1993. Former MLB star Alex Rodriguez knew everything about expectations when he went from Texas Rangers to Yankees in 2004.
Rodriguez made the mail season in all except three of his seasons with Yankees (not including when he missed the 2014 season due to suspension). But today he is the sharing owner of Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx.

And while he was on the diamond, somewhat smaller than a title was a failure, he admits that you as an owner “need to adjust” your expectations.
“At the end of the day it is so hard to win and there are so many different resources. “But I think that winning is more to be one of the most respected organizations that are sports to treat your fans in an impeccable way, your players or organization, and then your partners, your sponsorships and similar things, and then has a constant winner who has an opportunity to beat every year.
But Yankees still has all-star Aaron judge who, if it wasn’t for Houston Astros’ Jose Altuve in 2017, would fight for his fourth MVP award. His songs in the season are amazing, but so is his postal season statistics … in the opposite direction.
Since the beginning of the 2022 season (entered Thursday), Judge MLB has in war (30.9), home runs (178) and ops (1,124). But in October he is just hit .205 with a .768 ops.
Rodriguez polarized in New York from the first day-male was the superstar Shortstop with the biggest sports contract of all time, which did not exactly praise Yankees Great Derek Jeter in a now notorious quotation-Me’s judge is much more universally loved, being a home-written Yankee.
However, this love is not unanimous because of the referee’s match after the season. And if he wants to be forever in Yankees -Lore, Judge has “needs” to find success in October, according to Rodriguez.
“I mean, I’m probably the one guy who can answer this from a personal experience more than anyone else,” said Rodriguez, who was notorious in the fall of the bombers before transporting Yankees to their World Series title in 2009.

“I can tell you that for me was 2004 just an absolute debacle that was up 3-0 against [Boston] Red Sox and then lose four in a row. And for five years I basically did not sleep comfortably until five years later in ’09, we brought it home and dropped the hammer. So I think he needs a moment like that. I think he gets one. I think being part of Yankees and that lore is that you get cracks on it every single year. So it’s on his side, the talent is on his side, and the more bats, the more reps he gets, the chances increase. And when he does, it will be such a huge victory for everyone and it will be an elephant from his back. “
However, Yankees did not do exactly well in their World Series -Rematch last week against Los Angeles Dodgers. They fell two of the three matches, including a competition where they were threatened 18-2 (both Yankees’ race came on solo judge Homers).
Rodriguez is a partner with Lysol that cleans the stench – and Yanks could certainly have used some in Los Angeles’ Chavez Ravine. Ex-Yankees Slugger recently surprised a local judge in Miami Beach with some Lysol.
“Umpires are unsung heroes in the game and it was great to show my appreciation of the work they are doing on and off the field,” he said. “Lysol is just an incredible company to cooperate with. We have had a huge partnership and one of the things we want to do is have an impact on society and recognize people who are often not recognized.”
A player’s influence on the fact that Yankees certainly lacks is the one with the right -handed pitcher Gerrit Cole. And although the rotation has been a pleasant surprise, even with Coles Tommy John Surgery and Rookie of the Year Luis Gils Lat Injury, an incomplete Yankees team is no match for the reigning World Series Champs, Rodriguez believes.

“I think if you zoom out, I think it’s obvious to me with enough data points that the National League is far superior than the American league. So it’s a macro tank. And then Dodgers obviously has Yankees’ number,” Rodriguez said. “It was great that they were able to save the series by at least winning a game and not being swept. But see when you have one like Gerrit Cole Hurt, you can still get through some pedestrian teams in the American league, but it is obvious that when you play dodgers, you need your full team and then some and even it may not.”
