Baseball thrown from the audience under Giants Braves Game Spark’s confusion in the field

Atlanta Braves’ losing line reached five matches on Friday.

But much of the discussion after San Francisco Giants’ 5-4 victory centered around a bisar moment in the fourth lap.

A fan sitting in the stands at Oracle Park threw a ball against the home plate at about the same time, the first basseman Matt Olson scored a race.

Olson rounded off the third base and went home after teammate Sean Murphy hit a fluff ball to Outfield. The other ball landed near the home plate almost immediately after Giant’s right Fielder Mike Yastrzemski’s throw entered Catcher Patrick Bailey’s Mitt.

The extra baseball seemed to leave Bailey, Olson and others in a short state of confusion.

“Where did the other ball come from?” asked a Giants’ TV company.

“(It) got out of the top deck,” his TV replied. “Some clown threw baseball on the field. I’ve never seen that.”

The game refereeed cards to discuss the weird order. The game eventually resumed and Olson’s race reduced Giants’ lead to 3-1.

Giants manager Bob Melvin approached the incident after the game.

“It’s a first one,” Melvin said. “I’ve never seen that before. I don’t know where it came from. I don’t know what the rule is. I think everyone was a little surprised by it. It didn’t affect the game, but it was extremely weird to see another baseball getting on the field.”

Braves dropped a sixth consecutive match on Saturday afternoon after Giants hit a two-run walk-off Homer in the ninth lap for a 3-2 win.
