- An archiving points to 25W charging for Samsung Tri-Fold
- That matches the Galaxy S25 and Z Fold 6
- The collapsible phone could be revealed as early as July
We are very much looking forward to the full disclosure of the Samsung Tri-Fold phone at a time later in the year, but the latest rumor around the handset suggests that it will be somewhat disappointing about its charging speed.
According to documentation filed for regulators in China (via SammoBile), Samsung Tri-Fold will offer the 25W cable charging. It’s on par with the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 phones.
While it may not be surprising that Samsung sticks to the same charging limits as these current flagships, Oppo N5 will find at 80W when connected, while the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra hits the heights of 45W.
It is possible that Samsung is safely playing it with charging technology to avoid having to charge too much to add a new form factor to its lineup. We’ve seen estimates as high as $ 3,500 (about £ 2,585 / AU $ 5,390) for this handset.
Here’s what else we think we know
We have seen lots of other unofficial leaks and rumors of this handset: The only bit of information that is official and confirmed by Samsung is that this Tri-Fold-Handket is definitely on its way to taking existing phones like Huawei Mate XT.
One of the unconfirmed information we have found is that this phone will be called the Galaxy G Fold. It would certainly put it in line with the current foldable, Samsung seller in terms of its naming.
Apparently comes the folded handset with a 6.49 inch outer screen and a huge 9.96-inch screen on the inside. If it turns out to be the case, we will be very much in tablet territory when the phone is opened.
With the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, which was assumed to break the coverage sometime in July, the Galaxy G -fold (if it turns out to be its name) arrive at the same time – but some sources have said it will actually be revealed later in the year.
