Bryce Dallas Howard is thinking about the problems she was facing growing up.
Bryce remembered being a curious child with a taste for serious themes and struggling to communicate.
“I was such a messy child-I would walk around Disney Lot, who read about euthanasia,” Bryce told British newspaper The independent. “But I wasn’t dark either. There was just a kind of intensity for my feelings and the stories I was curious about.”
“When I grew up, I had a lot of difficulty learning and communicating,” she said. “I was always very happy and smiley, but not extremely verbal. It was unclear what intelligence was there and how much I really treated.”
The actress shared that her parents, Ron Howard and author Cheryl Howard, were concerned about her lack of communication.
“‘Can we talk about the dead babies?’ The therapist asked, ”remembered the actress. “‘Because Bryce is talking a lot about dead babies,” she added, laughing.
Bryce Dallas Howard continued to clarify that it “wasn’t as bad as it sounded,” and she simply loved “dystopian fiction” that list Handmaid’s speech as one of her favorite novels.
