Chris Evans shares an insider -look at his romantic suggestion in Portuguese.
The actor, 43, was at the New York City premiere of A24’s Materialists This Saturday when he caught up with The knot.
During the interview, Evans shared some details of his proposal for Baptista before marrying her in September 2023 in Massachusetts.
A sweet highlight in the proposal, he said, was that he even practiced it.
“Maybe I shouldn’t even say this. I suggested my now-wife in Portuguese-she is Portuguese,” Evans said. “So I learned to say, ‘will you marry me?’ In Portuguese.
“I had practiced it so much that while she and I wanted to make breakfast and you almost just started saying it out loud and you’re like ‘oh God,'” he added and laughed. “It’s not just a song stuck in my head, it will let the cat out of the bag.”
The Materialists Star also admitted to getting “really nervous” when it came to finally blasting the question.
“I actually think I turned it up,” he said. “But I still know!”
Evans has previously opened to expand his family with Baptista and bring another dog into their home.
He has also previously talked about wanting to become a father at one point during an interview in November 2024 with Access to Hollywood.
“The title of Dad is an exciting,” he said, adding that he would be a “superhero” father.
