For the first time since their on-Field clash in 2020, former NFL recipient Golden Tate gave more insight into his public feud with current Miami Dolphin’s cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Tate appeared on the “Bussin ‘With The Boys” podcast, where he told Co-Host’s Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, former NFL players themselves, about what led him and Ramsey to get into a change in the field in 2020.
Tate played for New York Giants in what would be his last NFL season after 11 years when they were intended to meet Ramsey and Los Angeles Rams.

In context, Ramsey had previously dated one of Tate’s twin sisters, and their relationship ended when she was pregnant with their second child.
“Now things happened within the relationship where I didn’t think my sister was done or treated the way she should have been treated,” Tate said at the podcast. “And when it happens, who are you going to come and see? You have to come and see Big Bro.”

The feud began to warm up when Tate responded to a fan who tweeted against him in October 2019 after a photo of Ramsey and his new girlfriend became public. The tab wrote, “If I were @showtimetate, I would have words with this young fella,” with reference to Ramsey.
“He knows he will have to see me,” Tate said.
Well, this meeting was on an NFL field when Giants traveled to Los Angeles to meet Rams. Tate said he and Ramsey started going back and forth almost instantly.

“We’re coming out there, and right away, first he’s excessively jammed me, and I’m like, ‘OK, that’s how we have to do,” Tate said.
“… what I do, I can’t cost my team a penalty or cost myself some money, so it’s in my back pocket. I don’t want to do it because it’s selfish but I’m in his face, I’m talking my mess he’s talking about his mess.”
It was a low scoring game between Giants and Rams, but the latter came victorious, 17-9. However, the tension completely cooked after the game as Tate approached Ramsey.
Ramsey swung against Tate and a physical shift arose with both teams involved to break it up.

“The game ends. I run up there to expect it what’s going to happen? And he comes and finds me … I see where he was. I went right up to him with my helmet on and he swings, but I knew he would swing, I saw duck and I went to dump him and the next thing you know they all had with us, so they separated us,” remembered Tate at the moment.
Ramsey has talked about the fight in the past during his “The Pivot” podcast performance in 2022.
“On sight we knew what we wanted to do,” he said. “I mean, that’s his sister, that’s what he should do too. But you also mind your business. This is also me now.”

Five years later, Tate and Ramsey never reconciled, but they put their differences aside for the children.
“We haven’t spoken, but I think we’ve both agreed not to be knuckleheads for improving his daughters and my nieces, and that’s the kind where we stand,” Tate said.
