But Indiana drove to a 79-52 win despite Star Guard Caitlin Clark, sitting out on Saturday with a quad injury. The sky also lost one of his star players during the game. Courtney VanderSloot suffered a devastating knee injury. A schedule for her return remains unclear.
More than 19,000 fans filled the United Center to watch the first WNBA game on record at Chicago Bulls Home Arena. While thousands gathered to take the action personally, many more fans voted into the game.

On Tuesday, WNBA announced that the game on average drew 1.92 million viewers. These numbers reflect the third highest viewing for a game carried by CBS. It was also a big increase compared to the network’s average season picture of the season’s games.

“The game peaked with 2.16 million viewers,” the league said.

According to the front office sport, the United Center operated with a slightly reduced capacity due to some construction.

“Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever pulled a sold -out audience of 19,496 fans for the first WNBA game in the United Center. The arena usually fits close to 21,000, but there was continuous construction that limited today’s capacity,” the sales reported on Saturday.

The loss to the fever dropped heaven’s 2025 record to 2-5. Entering Tuesday’s action, only Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings sit under the sky in the WNBA position.
The fever and heaven met earlier in May. The early season Matchup drew a record 2.7 million viewers, making it the most visible WNBA season match of 25 years.
The fever’s 93-58 victory peaked with 3.1 million viewers.
