RS9.8B is to be used at 11 Danish schools

Islamabad:

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Tuesday said under the Prime Minister’s Directive, budgeted earmarks RS9.8 billion to establish 11 new Danish schools for talented students in marginalized areas.

During his budget 2025-26 speech, three schools will be built in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, three in Gilgit-Baltistan, four in Balochistan and one in Islamabad during the federal PSDP 2025-26.

In addition, he said that the Prime Minister announced the creation of the Danish University Islamabad, a teaching -free institution that offers world -class education in new technologies, engineering, health and the students from remote regions.

The university will include modern infrastructure, educated faculty and research facilities, with master planning and construction to begin the next financial year.

Aurangzeb, who emphasized education as “the cornerstone of national development,” said the federal government confirmed its commitment to a quality education system under Article 25-A of the Constitution and the Uraan Pakistan education framework.

The finance minister said Pakistan faces major challenges, including 26 million children outside the school and systemic gaps in access, equity, governance and standards. He said that a total of RS18.5 billion is awarded to educational initiatives, including educational centers in early childhood to reduce dropout. Computer laboratories and the National Institute of Excellence to improve the learning standards.

Similarly RS3 billion for reconstruction of 1,800 flood -damaged schools in Sindh at 50:50 Cost sharing basis with provinces.
