Jonathan Jackson opens for the recent exit from ‘General Hospital’

General Hospital The star Jonathan Jackson has broken his silence on his recent exit from the soap opera.

The actor, 43, won five daytime Emmys for his role as Lucky Spencer despite his on-and-off appearances when he entered the role in 1993.

In a recent conversation with TV insiderThe actor shared that his reasons for leaving are the one back and forth travel between California, where show films and his home in Tennessee, where he and his family live.

“There was always this opportunity because it was a bit of an experiment from my side to see if I could make it work with the family’s dynamics,” said Jackson, who shares three children with his wife and the former general hospital’s co-star Lisa Vultaggio.

Jackson, who joined the show in August 2024, shared that he tried his best to maintain a balance between working life and life, but it eventually did not work for him. “We gave it our best shot, but we were unable to keep it going,” he admitted.

The actor insisted that he had hoped “to stay longer” than the nine months he spent with the crew.

“There are not as many situations in life as you get to go into this world, how much has changed, and has been much the same,” he said, noticing the “amazing connections” he has with many of the crew and those working on the show.

“So on top of that, you have the character you play that has this story and you’re going to work with so many people again,” he added.
