As Princess remains hospitalized after the accident, Dutch Queen changes change plan

Princess Catharina-Amalia, who broke her arm after falling off her horse, is recovering to a hospital.

After the incident on Tuesday, she was moved to the hospital where the doctors said she needed an operation.

In a statement, the Royal House confirmed the incident and said, “The princess of Orange broke her upper arm today after falling off her horse. She will undergo an operation at UMC Utrecht.”

The 21-year-old Royal had to undergo an operation as the hospital staff prepared to operate on the princess, who suffered a breach of an upper arm bone in the fall.

A report said the future queen of the Netherlands is recovering well and will remain in the hospital until at least tomorrow (Thursday).

According to the report, the Dutch royal family’s summer photocalla, which was scheduled for later this week, has been postponed until June 30.

Adjustments to Queen Maxima’s schedule have also been made so she can be more accessible to her daughter when she recovers.

Hours after her daughter was hospitalized, Queen Máxima spoke at the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) Global Summit in Amsterdam.

Since the investment of her father as King Willem-Alexander on April 30, 2013, Princess Catharina-Amalia has been titled Princess of Orange.

This title can only be held by the heir to the throne and used without first name. The princess has also retained her two other titles, assigned to her at her birth.

She moved to Huis Ten Bosch Palace in The Hague with her parents, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima, and her two sisters, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane.

Since September 2022, the princess has lived and studied in Amsterdam.

According to her profile on the official site of the Dutch royal family, “In her spare time she enjoys riding, tennis and singing.”
