PML-Q supports Premier’s financial initiatives

A delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Q on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and expressed full support for all the initiatives taken by him for the country’s economic development and public welfare.

The delegation consists of members of the National Assembly Chaudhry Hussain Elahi, Muhammad Ilyas Chaudhry and Mrs Farukh Khan and led by Minister of Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain urged Prime Minister PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

The MNAs praised the Prime Minister and his team for submitting the federal budget for the financial year 2025-2026 in the National Assembly.

The delegation said that both military and political leadership worked tirelessly for national development and people’s welfare.

They also paid tribute to the Prime Minister’s exemplary leadership under the recent tensions with India and his efforts to raise the country’s prestige on the global stage. Cases related to the respective constituencies were also discussed during the meeting.

Transfers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over the increase in transfers during May 2025, which was 13.7 percent more than the previous financial year.

In a statement here, the Prime Minister said the country had received some USD $ 34.9 billion in transfers in the current financial year, which was 28.8 percent higher than the outgoing financial year.

“$ 3.7 billion was received in transfers during May 2025, which is 13.7% more than May last year. The increase in transfers is evidence of the growing confidence of overseas Pakistanis in government’s economic policy,” Prime Minister Shehbaz said.

He added that the government’s financial measures and people-friendly budget for the next financial year was a harbing of a bright future for the country.

The prime minister, who pays tribute to the record increase in the stock market to 124,000 points, said the bullish trend reflected investors and business people’s confidence in the pro-people budget presented by the government on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister said in a statement that the government in the federal budget 2025-26 put some additional tax burden on the ordinary man and that the wage increase and tax reductions would provide relief to the employees.

“The journey to national economic progress has begun. The population of Pakistan sacrificed enormous victims. Now we all have to work together to improve the ordinary man’s life,” he noted. He also appreciated the government’s financial team, whose efforts led to the reduction in inflation and the increase in foreign exchange reserves.

“Pakistan’s return from the edge of breach, the beginning of economic stability and the journey towards progress is a miracle. This historical economic turn, achieved through the hard work of the economic team and prioritization of Pakistan’s interests, will be etched in history forever,” he commented.
