Shane Lowry had a rough opening round at the 2025 US Open Tournament in Pennsylvania.
The 2019 winner of the Open Championship shot a disappointing 9-over couple in the first round on Thursday, putting him in a draw for the 137th place on the leaderboard. He was 2-over pairs after the first seven holes, but his frustrations seemed to reach a boiling point when he came to par-4 17.
After not getting the golf ball out of the rough, the Irish golfer ended up taking his frustrations over a microphone. The piece of audio equipment fell to the ground after Lowry knocked it down.
