The head of opposition in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub Khan, has criticized PML-N LED Federal Government’s economic policy and described them as a recipe for complete destruction of the national economy.
In his speech during the National Assembly budget on Friday, Omar, which belongs to PTI, noticed the current budget as a document for fake statistics and questioned where the specified GDP numbers had come from.
He pointed out that all crop yields have fallen, the agricultural sector is on decline.
Omar compared the current situation with the one in April 2022 when the PTI government was removed through a vote without confidence. He said unemployment has now reached 22%and 6.2 million educated young people roam the unemployed.
He accused both “PDM-1 and PDM-2 governments” of having crushed the poor by imposing indirect taxes on RS42,500 billion. ‘
An alliance of opposition parties – the Pakistani Democratic Movement (PDM) – came to power after the PTI government in April 2022. The current reigning coalition is also sometimes described as a continuation of the first PDM government, which was also led by Shehbaz Sharif.
The opposition leader accused the government of begging for IMF packages and claimed that $ 48 billion has been sent abroad through foreign agents.
“The budget deficit on RS6.5 trillion is financed by loans from business banks, which will reduce the loan capacity to the public and eventually turn Pakistan into an economic cemetery,” he added.
He said large industries have contracted with 1.5%, while industries during PTI’s tenure extended to the point where workers were not even available in Faisalabad, Omar claimed.
The opposition leader claimed that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has more power than even the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister.
“Naqvi, while serving as Punjab-Vice Work Minister, imported low-quality wheat from Ukraine, while Minting RS450 billion in the negotiation. Naqvi performs the actions, the government is blamed,” he added.
When some government ministers – Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Attaullah Tarar – Lo of his remarks, said Omar, “This laughter proved that Mohsin Naqvi actually controls them”.
PPPS Raja Pervaiz Ashraf stated that the recent conflict in the Pakistan India, the Pakistani Army and the Nation responded decisively and showed India that the Pakistani nation is not divided but united in the defense. He praised the military leadership, including Field Marshal Asim Munir, for their commendable actions.
He noted that although the opposition criticizes the budget, the government highlights its positive aspects. Each government must present a good budget to win public support, but in view of the circumstances difficult decisions had to be made.
“The current government made tough elections and sacrificed political popularity to save the country from bankruptcy,” he added.
