India’s aviation sector faces significant losses as the closure of airspace in six countries after Iran’s retribution to Israeli attacks disrupts the most important international flights.

According to aviation sources, 30 Indian flights were redirected and several aircraft were canceled during the attack.

After the Israeli strikes last night, Iran’s airspace was closed to all flights and Iraq soon followed.

On Friday morning, Jordan also issued a message to close his airspace, but announced reopening on Saturday. In addition, Israel has completely closed its airspace to reduce the risk of retaliation.

During the attack on Iran, two Indian flights that originated from Delhi were temporarily stranded, but were eventually allowed to leave the Iranian airspace.

Washington flights to Delhi, New York to Mumbai and London to Delhi were redirected to different places, including Vienna and Frankfurt.

While aircraft from Vancouver and Chicago to Delhi were redirected to Jeddah, while services from Bangalore to Sharjah also faced disturbances.

Numerous flights from the US, UK, Canada and various European countries have had to be canceled.

As a result of this development, flights from the US to India now arrive at their destinations via Canada, Russia, Mongolia, China, Myanmar and Bangladesh, which significantly increases travel times. For example, a 15-hour flight from Jeddah now takes over 18 hours.

In Pakistan, aircraft operations remain largely unaffected except for some delays.

Seven flights from Najaf to Karachi, Baku to Lahore and Karachi to Jeddah have been canceled. In addition, two foreign airline flights from Kuwait to Karachi have been delayed by more than six hours.

Two flights from Dubai to Karachi were facing two hours of delays, while four flights from Karachi to Istanbul were delayed by more than an hour. The national airline’s flight from Karachi to Muscat was also delayed by five hours.

In addition, flights from Sharjah and Dubai to Faisalabad were delayed by two hours, and flights from Sharjah to Sialkot and Dubai to Multan are facing delays over an hour.
