Auburn Tigers Men’s Basketball Head coach Bruce Pearl has been as obvious in his support for Israel since October 7, 2023, terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas.
Pearl, president of the US Israel Education Association, acknowledged in a recent conversation that he is told a lot on social media about sticking to basketball and staying quiet when it comes to his view of Israel.

However, he explained “to be Jewish podcast” why he speaks out.
“Here’s the deal. One of the reasons I do, it’s really simple. What is your course in the Middle East that teaches you in high school? Oh, don’t you have one? Oh, so let’s go on social media and let’s read lies and propaganda,” explained Pearl.
“On the back of their minds it is, ‘maybe they’re right. Maybe stole the Jews land. Maybe they ran them out of their homes. I don’t know.’ It’s because you’ve never been taught. [which is] A very, very high minority. “

Pearl led Auburn to a 32-6 record. Tigers’ Final Four performance was the team’s first since 2019. Pearl has led Auburn to his only two final fours.
But his support for Israel as a Jewish basketball coach is as strong as his love for the game.
The American Israel Education Association appointed Pearl his chairman in April.
“I’ve dedicated much of my life to teaching young people about the importance of leadership, values and understanding different perspectives,” Pearl said in a news message at the time.
