Lawyers booked for viral traffic series

Rawalpindi:

The Cantt Police have registered a case against some lawyers for throwing threats to traffic policemen, which has made a video of the clash to change a motorcycle and make it viral on social media. The case was registered under the PECA Act and other offenses.

Rawalpindi Legal Brotherhood protested the registration of a case and demanded its rapid withdrawal.

Inspector Wajid from the city’s traffic police complained that he was on duty with his team when a video was circulated on Facebook by lawyer Chaudhry Rizwan Elahi.

The incident took place on Saturday on Haider Road, where a motorcyclist was stopped so as not to wear a helmet and for the absence of a front number plate. The rider identified as Malik Tajammul was issued a Challan (ticket) and his motorcycle was placed due to lack of documents.

The motorcyclist presented himself as a lawyer and called about 15 co -lawyers to the scene who allegedly threw serious threats. Other policemen present helped reject the situation. However, lawyer Rizwan Elahi later published the video in his Facebook account, allegedly honored to the police.

The complaint indicates that the video was deliberately made viral to encourage the public mood and vicious and dignity in the police department.

It also claims that threats were issued to uniformed officers, and official work was prevented – acts considered criminals.

Police confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

On the other hand, the lawyers condemned the registration of a case strongly and called it manufactured. In a statement from Asad Mehmood Malik, the Secretary of Rawalpindi wore association, the association expressed strong condemnation of the city’s traffic police “illegal, unpublished and inappropriate behavior” to their reputable member and former joint secretary, spokesman Malik Tajammul Awan.

Despite being resolved on the scene, the Bar Association strongly protested the “baseless and illegal FIR” that was filed against advocates Elahi and Awan and demanded the immediate withdrawal.

Rawalpindi -District’s bar declared full solidarity with its members and claimed that the dignity and honor of the legal fraternity would never be compromised. If the case is not withdrawn within 24 hours, the bar will announce its next course with strict action.
