A strong explosion torn through the Rakhni area of ​​Balochistan’s Barkhan District Monday, killed a person and injured at least ten others in what the authorities suspect was a targeted terrorist act. The blasting took place in a crowded section of the local marketplace that triggered panic among suppliers and shoppers.
According to officials, the deceased is identified as a resident of Sakhi Sarwar, Punjab. The explosion caused extensive damage to nearby stores and vehicles, sent waste flying and forced frightened spectators to flee for coverage.
Emergency persons and law enforcement authorities quickly reached the stage, cut off the area and launched rescue operations. The wounded were rushed to nearby hospitals, where medical staff described the condition of several victims as critical. The health authorities have placed medical facilities in the high alarm region.
