PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan announced on Tuesday that he is leaving the trip and Tiger Woods seems excited about the future.
Monahan leaves the trip next year and the top NFL performing Brian Rolapp was announced as PGA Tour’s CEO.
“I am honored to step into the role of CEO of PGA Tour. Golf has one of the deepest stories and many of the most timeless traditions of all sports,” Rolapp said in an open letter sent on social media. “This story and these traditions have inspired generations of players and fans, creating both a game and a tour that millions around the world love. At the same time, professional golf develops, just as the ways of fans consumer sports. My goal as CEO is to honor Golf’s traditions but not be too bound by them.”

Woods posted at X, thanks to Monahan for his service for the trip and congratulated the new CEO.
“Congratulations to Brian on becoming CEO of PGA Tour. I’m excited about where the trip is on the way. And a big thank you to Jay for everything he has done for our games and for the players and fans,” Woods released.
Monahan added himself, “Brian is the perfect choice for the next chapter in PGA Tour.
“His arrival strengthens our leadership team and reflects our common commitment to the continued development of the tour. With Brian’s expertise and vision and the confidence we have established with our players and fans, I am more confident than ever in the future we build.”

Monahan will move his daily responsibility to Rolapp and focus more on his position on PGA Tour Board together with Commercial PGA Tour Enterprises Board through 2026.
“Over the past few years, the trip has made meaningful progress in tackling these changes – from creating more opportunities for players to improving the competitive structure and improving the fan experience. But there is still significant work to do, and incredible opportunities remain ahead. From creating the highest quality golf product that includes the best players in the world, to strengthening commercial partnerships – as I talked to players, Fans in recent months I felt for this potential, “Rol,” Rol.

Monahan’s message comes in the midst of continued negotiations with the Public Investment Fund and Life -Golf, which was found over two years ago. No agreement has ever realized as Monahan has continued to criticize.
