Rawalpindi:
Senior PML-N leader and former Senator Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmed Khan surrendered before the Rawal Pindi bench in Lahore High Court in connection with the murder case on former provincial parliamentary secretary Chaudhry Adnan.
Tanveer, who appeared for justice Sadaqat Ali Khan, withdrew his application before the occasion of bail, which the court then formally disposed of. After the withdrawal, police police took chaudhry Tanveer in custody and involved him for the investigation.
Defense lawyer stated that their client had voluntarily drawn the request for guarantee to ensure transparency in the investigation and fully cooperation with the police.
“Our bail was not rejected – we withdrew it ourselves to facilitate a fair investigation. We will present all the evidence that proves our innocence,” the lawyer said.
Chaudhry Adnan, a close relative of Chaudhry Tanveer, was shot to death on February 8, 2024 – three days after the parliamentary elections – near Jinnah Park Chowk in the area of Civil Lines. His family filed a four who accused Chaudhry Tanveer, his brother Chaudhry Changez (a member of the Cantonment Board) and his son Barrister Daniyal (a sitting mna).
