- Marvel has revealed the full schedule and episode titles to Ironheart
- My greatest fear of its release format has been confirmed
- The penultimate chapter name may have spoiled a possible secret crook reveals
Marvel has revealed the full release plan and episode titles to Ironheart.
At the time of publication, the last TV show in Marvel Phase 5 is less than a week away from making his Disney+ debut. And to celebrate the countdown to launch, Marvel has revealed some key information about the Dominque Thorne-led TV series.
Let’s start with the very important episodic release format, officially confirmed via Marvel Studios’ Instagram account (see above). We already knew Ironheart Would air with a premiere in three episodes on June 24 in the US and on June 25 in Britain and Australia (NB: It also arrives at one of these two dates in other nations). So much was made clear when the long -lasting Marvel TV Originals first trailer was finally revealed in mid -May.
At that time, however, I expressed concern about Ironheart‘s rumored publishing format. Industrial insiders had claimed that the last three episodes would collapse a week after the show premiered. Now Marvel has proven that leakage was correct.
So why does Marvel give Ironheart the Andor Season 2 treatment by releasing it in double three-part batches? Is it because the cartoon giant is not sure people will see that week to week? Or is it simply experimenting with how its small screen projects are released on one of the world’s best streaming services? I can’t say for sure, but we find out if this release format is a success or not when its streaming data has been crushed in the weeks after the last three episodes have been sent.
Better the devil you know
It’s not the only interesting questions that Ironheart‘s release plan is thrown up. In fact, the Eagle-Eyed Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans have seen something in the above Instagram post that can point to the inclusion of a secret villain.
Look at the fifth episode title – ‘Karma is a mistake’ – and you will notice that ‘M’ is written in different ink colors. The primary tint is black, but a red marker has also been used to spell the word ‘karma’. Even more crucial, ‘M’ is the only letter in any of the spelled episode titles to get this treatment.
So what has this to do with one yet to be revealed antagonist in Ironheart? MCU fans believe this is another sign that Demon Lord, known as Mephisto, will be revealed as the show’s actual villain-in-chief.
Comment from R/Marvelstudios
Until now, Anthony Ramos’ Parker Robbins/The Hood has been placed as its main antagonist (read more about him and more in my dedicated Ironheart guide). However, Mephisto has long been rumored to be the big bad, there are puppet events from the shadows. In fact, Mephisto was first associated with a role in Ironheart Way back in October 2022.
Add the show’s dark magic versus technology-led story plus more teases about a potential mephisto look in Ironheart‘s official trailer, into the equation, and MCU fans are even more convinced that Marvel’s takeover of the devil will show up.
Do you think that mephisto will emerge Ironheart? Or is this a fan theory that people have spelled out of thin air? Tell me that in the comments.
