Islam Bath: Pakistan has categorically dismissed the indicates of the Indian media, citing Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar to say that Islamabad had requested a ceasefire after the recent standoff with India.
The nuclear armed nearby Arch rivals had engaged in a serious military confrontation following India’s unprovoked missile attacks on targets within the Pakistani territory last month.
Pakistan Army launched a retaliatory surgery called Bunyan Um Marsoos (Iron Wall) to counter the Indian aggression that New Delhi labeled as a response to the alleged Pakistani commitment to the attack of tourists in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahagam in April.
Both countries suffered loss of life and property, while Pakistan Air Force reduced at least six Indian fighter jets, including expensive French aircraft, Rafale, while successfully defending the country’s territorial integrity.
The 87 -hour conflict that raised fears of a nuclear war between the two countries finally ended with a ceasefire broken by the United States. Since then, India has repeatedly claimed that Pakistan had first reached the United States to request to stop in the fighting, a claim that Islamabad has hardly refused.
“We reject categorical allegations that Pakistan sought a ceasefire for Indian aggression,” spokesman for the Foreign Office said in a statement issued late on Friday.
The spokesman said that DPM Dar in his media interviews and declarations had explained that Pakistan responded decisively to Indian aggression in the exercise of his right to self -defense.
He explained that the friendly states, including Saudi -Arabia, and especially the United States, played a crucial role in facilitating the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
“The event sequence clearly shows that Pakistan did not start or asked anyone for a ceasefire, but accepted it when US Secretary of State Marco Rubio called DAR at 8:15 on May 10, 2025 and informed that India is ready to ceasefire if Pakistan is willing,” the spokesman remembered.
FO further declared that FM confirmed Pakistan’s consent to the proposal. He said that later around 1 p.m. 9 Saudi FM Prince Faisal also called Dar and informed the same about India and sought the same confirmation that State Secretary Marco Rubio had applied for in the past.
The US president repeats his attitude and has even offered to convey the long -time Kashmir – avout between the two countries – an attitude also highlighted by the US Department of State.
Although Pakistan has again praised and credited President Trump for his role in the ceasefire, which he himself has highlighted on several occasions, India has denied any American involvement at all.
