For a while, we’ve heard rumors about how thin Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 becomes and a newly leaked practical video, allegedly showing a dummy device to the folding, gives us more evidence of the folding Saints.
This video comes from Thesinza on YouTube (via 9to5Google), and the Dummy device is directly compared to Samsung’s current foldable with regard to its thickness and dimensions, including the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
These dummy devices often appear prior to telephone launches and are based on schedules and information leaked from the supply chain. They don’t actually work like phones, but they can be useful for accessory manufacturers who get their goods ready for the launch day.
Based on the new video, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will be 4.5 mm thick when unfolded, so it will be markedly leaner than it is predecessor (5.6 mm), while not quite taking the honor of being the thinnest folding phone away from Oppo Find N5 (4.21 mm).

The rumors that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 would be super slim have been swirling since last year, and although nothing is confirmed before this handset is official, it would be a surprise if it did not throw a few millimeters compared to the 2024 model.
It was only yesterday that we saw freshly leaked reproductions of this collapse, which in turn showed up how thin the handset is, in front of the back – and suggested that the camera bump could also be quite large.
Camera quality is always a problem when you have a really thin phone, like the life of the battery. The rumor is that Samsung introduces new and improved battery technology so that decent battery life can be maintained, even with less space to accommodate a battery.
We also had a leaked release date: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 will apparently see the light of day on Wednesday, July 9. At the same event we also have to see Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 and at least one Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 model.
