New -Connections Today (Play #742) – The answers

The answers to today’s connections, game #742, is …
- Yellow: News message Bulletin, flash, report, wire
- Green: Nouns from a famous line in the Declaration of Independence Happiness, freedom, life, pursuit
- Blue: HBO shows Entourage, euphoria, uncertain, order
- Purple: What “Left” can mean Departed, port, progressive, back
- My rating: Moderate
- My score: 1 Error
My first thought of watching the word board today was that Entourage, Euphoria and order joined forces as examples of blank American TV shows. But what should I add to them? The thread maybe, but it lacked the final at first, so seemed unlikely. Was there maybe a show called it, or was it The Departure? Or it can be life as it is definitely a TV show – but a British.
In the end, I got cold feet on it and looked elsewhere and discovered the life, freedom and the pursuit of happiness were all nouns from a famous line in the Declaration of Independence.
It gave me a light green, so I decided next time to search for the allegedly lighter still yellow. Yellow groups are almost always equal groups of words without subter joint or misinformation, so I looked at the board with a clear mind and spotted flash, report, wire and bulletin as examples of a news message.
With a more necessary, I looked at the TV show again, now cut off by life and thread, and played these three with departed. It gave me ‘one away’ but I added insecure as another possible and got it right. It turns out they were all HBO shows.
It is just abandoned purple, and what “left” can mean, a nice oblique group with departure, port, progressive and remaining.
How did you do today? Tell me that in the comments below.

What are new connections?
New Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games made by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four objects that share something in common, and each group has another level of difficulty: green is light, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and purple usually very difficult.
On the plus side, you do not have to technically solve the last one, as you can answer one by an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four errors, giving you a little bit of breathing room.
However, it is a little more involved than something like Wordle, and there are plenty of opportunities for the game to get up with tricks. For example, be careful on gay and other word games that can hide the answers.
It can be played free of charge via the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
