- A now-amazed Amazon list hinted at a 6.3-inch iPhone 17 screen
- IPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch screen
- All four iPhone 17 models could Sport 120Hz Promotional Screens
Based on the iPhone 17 rumors we have heard so far, we expected the Basic Model 2025 iPhone to get a larger 6.3-inch screen up from the 6.1-inch display of the iPhone 16 and upgrade may now have been confirmed by a third-party case manufacturer.
An Amazon India listing discovered by Gsmarena showed an iPhone 16 Pro screen protector from Spigen as also compatible with iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro. The list has now been revised to remove any iPhone 17 reviews.
The implication is that the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro all have the same 6.3-inch screen size. It matches a leak that appeared last month, although it is possible that a smaller frame – rather than any increase in the physical size of the phone – will be the cause of the larger screen.
As for the iPhone 17 Pro, all indications have been that the phone retains the same 6.3-inch screen as its predecessor. It could make the choice between the standard and the Pro model a little more difficult than it was last year.
Another upgrade of Display
Another rumor from the iPhone 17 that makes the rounds is that all four models come with 120Hz screens that Apple describes as promotion. This means smoother effects and rolling and supporting an always-on-screen.
Again, it would blur the line between the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro, so we will have to wait and see what decisions Apple eventually makes. It is possible that the Standard iPhone 17 could stick to last year’s chipset to give a more affordable option.
It seems to be almost certain now that we are also getting an iPhone 17 air set set that replaces the iPhone 16 Plus. The lecture has been that the iPhone 17 air will only be 5.5 mm thick, at the front of the back, although some of the advantages of it were so slim could be undone by the size of the camera bump around the back.
The series will be rounded off by the iPhone 17 Pro Max (or maybe iPhone 17 Ultra), which is said to get the same size 6.9-inch screen as iPhone 16 Pro Max. The phones are expected to be launched in September.
