Islamabad:
London’s Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has signed its first official partnership with a Pakistani hospital, Novacare Hospital, to share clinically best practices and promote the development of healthcare professionals.
According to the agreement, Imperial College NHS will provide expert consultation in hospital planning, education and clinical guidance. On the other hand, associated fees generated by Novacare will be reinvested for Imperial’s NHS services in the UK.
Novacare Hospital, currently under construction in Islamabad’s DHA phase, is scheduled to open in 2026. It aims to provide advanced medical treatment across 28 clinical specialties, including cardiology, oncology, orthopedia, neurology and maternal health. The facility will contain smart building control systems, AI-optimized elevators and groundbreaking infection control and fall prevention technologies.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott CMG OBE called the partnership a milestone in health care cooperation. “This agreement brings Britain’s world -leading health expertise to Pakistan and, in turn, supports Britain’s NHS. By sharing best practices and helping to develop clinical staff, this partnership will directly help save lives,” she said.
The initiative is part of the UK’s wider strategy to export the NHS clinical standards globally. The partnership will also allow Novacare Clinics to comply with NHS Multidisciplinary Meetings, consult British specialists for other opinions and receive education based on NHS protocols.
In addition, complex cases can be referred to Imperial’s private facilities in London, which further supports British health income.
Marriott, accompanied by the British trade broadcast to Pakistan Mohammad Yasin MP during his three-day visit to the country, toured the Novacare construction site. The delegation met with Key Novacare and Andalus Holding’s leaders, including CEO Johannes Kedzierski, Director Faraz Minai, Partner Ghalib Hafiz, Director Mustafa Hassan and project director Qaiser Rafiq.
