World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler unleashed on his caddy in a surprise frame in the all-time meltdown on June 5, 2026.
During the first round of the PGA Tour’s The Memorial Tournament, Scottie unloaded at his caddy at Muirfield Village in Ohio.
Scheffler hit a poor tee shot into the water on the left side of the par-3 16th TH hole.
He then went on to unleash his frustration on none other than fellow Lions player Ted Scott.
Scheffler, usually calm and composed, lost his cool on the Jack Nicklaus-built course when he posted a double bogey on the 16th hole.
Bad shots continued on the 10th and 14th holes; at that moment, he had already suppressed a lot of anger that was waiting to explode.
The bogey exploded on his caddy as he stood in the tee box.
“I never thought it was the one. I don’t know what to do,” Scheffler.
“I can’t hear a word you’re saying.”
Scheffler then began to move toward the drop zone, but he wouldn’t drop his tucked-in pants.
“I felt it was a good card,” he said.
It was a good short,” Scott replied.
“Now I’m in the water because it came in from the right,” Scheffler continued.
“I totally washed a 7-iron and we get the wind wrong and I’m in the water.
“I don’t think you understand how frustrating it is. Like it was a good short film.”
“Actually, it flushed, right on the net. The wind is coming out of the right. God, really.”
A par on the 18th hole secured Scheffler, who finished a stroke over par for the opening round with a 73.
Round 1 ended in a four-way tie at the top as JJ Spaun, Wyndham Clark, Tommy Fleetwood and Ryan Gerard all shot rounds of 67.
