- Surfshark has got his policy without logs verified by Deloitte for the second time
- The independent verification, from a large four audit firm, confirms Surfshark’s requirements without logging

Surfshark has confirmed his commitment to privacy and transparency with the release of his second Assurance No-Log’s Insurance on June 16, 2025.
Already rated as one of the best VPNs of Techradar, this is the second time Surfshark has been working with Deloitte to verify his commitment to users’ privacy by revising his policy without logs.
Why Surfshark’s political verification without logs matters
Surfshark invited Deloitte to revise his declaration of non-logs for the first time back in 2023 and illustrate the severity it takes users’ privacy.
However, another insurance report on non-logs in 2025 shows “Surfshark’s proactive approach to privacy,” said Donatas Budvytis, Surfshark’s Chief Technology Officer.
It is a welcome update in an industry where lots of VPN providers have not yet proven their own requirements for non-logs. Some VPNs, especially free VPN services, hold logs. In some cases, these may contain personally identifying information, put user data and privacy at risk.
Only recently reported Techradars Chiara Castro that some 17 free VPN apps found in the Google and Apple App stores have ties to China. VPNs operating in China are subject to strict law storage laws and may be forced to share data with the Chinese government upon request.
Surfshark’s decision to have Deloitte, one of the big four audit firms, sees another look at its policy without lodges provides considerable credibility, and as Budvytis explains, “a great confirmation of privacy and transparency for our current and future users.”
It also proves Surfshark’s claims that it does not monitor user activity or keep logs over their activities. That this is another independent verification shows that this is an ongoing commitment from Surfshark, and not just a disposable.
Here’s what Deloitte looked at
Deloitte’s independent audit provides assurance that Surfshark’s policy without lodges has been implemented correctly.
As part of its evaluation, Deloitte examined internal systems and processes, conducted interviews with Surfshark staff and underwent supportive evidence.
Deloitte looked at Surfshark’s standard, static and multiport servers, while also analyzing how these servers are configured and implemented. Privacy settings and operational procedures were carefully inspected to ensure that they match Surfshark’s privacy obligations.
Ultimately, Deloitte confirmed that the policy without logs is consistently used across all relevant surfshark infrastructure.

Which VPN providers have had their policies without logs independently revised?
Surfshark is not the only VPN provider who has exposed his policy without logs to an independent audit.
NordVPN had its requirements that were not log, verified by PwC in 2018 and 2020, before they had Deloitte conducted independent reviews in 2022, 2023 and 2025.
VPN, which has reviewed more revisions than most, is ExpressVPN, after publishing 19 third -party audit reports to date.
