PM calls to strengthen democratic institutions

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on the nation to renew his decision to strengthen parliamentary institutions, maintain democratic values ​​and ensure that people’s votes are really reflected in the legislative process.

In a statement on the international parliamentary day, he said, “The day is observed every year on June 30 to confirm our global obligation to strengthen democratic institutions.” “The day also celebrates the important role of parliament in promoting inclusive governance, ensuring a meaningful representation of women and young people and embracing technological innovation in regulatory practice,” he said. PM noted, “Our parliament occupies a central place in our democratic framework. Through its legislative authority and the vigilant work of its standing committee, Parliament ensures accountability, transparency and supervision of the exercise.”
