Islamabad:

President Asif Ali Zardari has officially signed Finance Bill 2026 in law after its approval by both the National Assembly and the Senate. The signing took place after the bill was passed through the necessary regulatory processes.

In accordance with the Constitution, the bill, which includes various tax measures for the coming financial year, was submitted to President Zardari after being discussed and adopted in both parliamentary houses.

Following the president’s signature, the official Gazette review has been issued, making the provisions of the bill immediately effective.

On June 10, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb revealed an RS17.6 trillion federal budget for the financial year 2025-26 and puts stress on the government’s focus on financial stability and growth.

In its budget speech in the National Assembly, which was destroyed by the opposition’s pandemonium, Aurangzeb outlined the most important financial results and said transfers have reached $ 31.2 billion, with projections to rise to $ 37-38 billion at the end of the current economic year.

Last week, the National Assembly approved the budget with certain changes, rejected opposition calls for public consultation and clear the way for a number of tax forms, revenue measures and public spending for the coming year.

The session, led by speeches Ayaz Sadiq, began with Aurangzeb moving Finance Bill 2025, which was taken up to a clause-for-clause review.

Opposition members proposed a change to delay the approval of the bill and seek public consultation, but this amendment was overwhelmingly rejected.
