Tennis legend Martina Navratilova responded to the shooting at the abominable backholding style of Idaho, leaving two firefighters died and another wounded Sunday.

The suspected sniper was identified as Wess Roley. Officials said Roley deliberately put a brush fire on the Canfield Mountain, near the Coeur d’Als alone to lure the first responders to a deadly trap, according to the Associated Press.

“Our country is messy … Rip to the heroes who died, and the dead killer must rot in a hell of a place,” wrote Navratilova on X.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office said firefighters originally responded to a flame on the Canfield Mountain just north of Coeur d’Alon. Audio released from the scene showed the first respondents who called for help.

Law enforcement launched a massive manhunt that tracks the suspected gunman through the terrain. Using mobile phone data, a tactical team Rolly’s body placed several hours later in a wooded area near the point of origin of the fire. A firearm was found nearby.
