Kayla Lochte, Kona to the Olympic Gold Medal Ryan Lochte, published on social media about “treason” weeks after the couple announced that they were getting a divorce.
Reid on Friday announced a slide show with “reminders” that she said she told herself in the middle of the divorce with Lochte.

“You step into the best chapter of your life – you just have to heal first,” the first slide read. “Sometimes God allows the betrayal … because it leads to the breakthrough.
“Most people have no idea what I’ve endured. Ignore their opinions. The truth always reveals itself,” says another slide.
“Divorce is not the end of my story. That’s the beginning of my rebirth,” she concluded.
Earlier this month, Reid and Lochte revealed that they were ready for a divorce after seven years of marriage. TMZ reported that Reid requested divorce earlier this year, a decision that came “after deep prayer and reflection,” she said.
“I keep marriage in the highest respect, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing and challenging seasons in my life. I’ve hesitated to share until I could do it from a place of healing – not from fresh, open wounds,” Reid wrote on Instagram at that time.
“Sometimes we face trials that we did not choose or see coming. And in these moments we are forced to make the most difficult decisions to protect our peace, our children and our future. I have understood that staying is not always the most loving decision anyone can make. For me was to leave was a love of love – for those around me and for myself.”

Lochte then went to Instagram and said the decision “has not been easy.”
“I will take a moment to acknowledge what Kayla shared. The past year has brought big changes to both of us as we have come to the difficult decision to end our marriage. I am deeply grateful for the life we have built together, and especially for the love we share for our three children,” he wrote on social media.
“Although this decision has not been easy, I think it is the right step towards peace and well-being for both of us. I remain obliged to heal, growth and co-parents with care and respect as we move on. Thank you to our family and friends for your continued support-it really means a lot when we begin this new chapter.”
The couple engaged in 2016, the same year Lochte was involved in a controversial incident at a gas station under Rio -ol. Lochte initially claimed that he and his teammates were robbed of gun, but it was decided that with the cannons they were actually security guards at a gas station where swimmers had urinated outside a bathroom. Lochte eventually lost four major sponsorships and the United States swam him for 10 months.

Lochte won his sixth and last medal in Rio, a gold as part of the 4×200 meter freestyle.
Reid was The Playboy Playmate of the Month for July 2015.
