The worst thing about a heat wave is perhaps the disturbed sleep. Everyone loves the hot weather when sitting in a park with a cold drink and a sun hat, but it is much less fun at. 1, when it feels like you’re lying in a volcano.
I have tested and written about many of the best fans on the market, but the one I dream of right now is Shark Turbo Blade. It looks like no fan I’ve seen before – the mood is a bit like if a wind turbine and an air purifier had a baby. But in action it is a skinny, average cold air machine – and it has a feature that makes it especially good for sleep. This fan scored an impressive four stars in our Shark Turboblade Review (I didn’t write it, but I also tested this model and can certify its effectiveness).
The ‘arms’ each blast a leaf with concentrated air. They can be individually angled (up / down, left / right) and turning so that they sit side by side or stack vertically. It all sits on a telescopic pole, which means the setup is also adjustable. Here’s the best bit: For sleep, you can put your arms horizontally at the right height to your bed and angle them so they push a cool air carpet over you while snoozing. Dreaming.
Turbo leaves are on the more expensive side and if you prefer something cheaper, there are plenty of alternatives on the market to choose from. Here are three more of my favorites.
